Bambinart Gallery is pleased to announce arthorymen's solo exhibition "HORYMAN" from November 17 through 26, 2010.
arthorymen was born in Kumamoto in 1973. His cartoon-like drawings and paintings have been widely recognized, winning the YUKO HASEGAWA PRIZE and the bronze prize at GEISAI#8. After that, he was selected as a finalist at tokyo wonder seed 2009, held a group exhibition "art index in Kumamoto" (CONTEMPORARY ART MUSEUM KUMAMOTO, Kumamoto) and many other exhibitions.
"HORYMAN" is a zombie with three eyes and stitches all over his body, a creature embodying essences of Christ, Frankenstein, punks, and even the devil. Because HORYMAN is a zombie, he can’t die and thus has been roaming the earth for 2000 years. arthorymen creates stories, drawings, paintings, photographs, and also recordings of HORYMAN's groaning voice to express his world-view and atmosphere surrounding HORYMAN. The art works on HORYMAN where createed between 2005 and 2010.
At this exhibition, his newest works will be exhibited.
