Bambinart Gallery is pleased to present "blue background", a solo exhibition by Sakura Fukushima from November 21, 2012 to December 9, 2012.

Sakura Fukushima (b. 1987, Kumamoto prefecture)creates her overall oeuvre by painting and then populates it with sewn images.
The somewhat nostalgic melancholia one feels when looking at her work may be due to the fact that we find forgotten fragments of our childhood in the canvas.

Our memory is simplified by the passage of time and slowly changes form as we acquire new knowledge and experiences.
Even if two people have the same experience, they will not remember it the same way. This, sometimes, saddens me.
I decided to return to the memories within me, sort out and rearrange their elements, loving them in a different way.
