このたびバンビナート ギャラリーでは、金森 青葉（かなもり あおば）個展「女たち」を開催いたします。金森はロックバンド「tobaccojuice（タバコジュース）」のギタリストとしてキングレコードよりメジャーデビューし、RSRやロック・イン・ジャパン、SUMMER SONICといった大型フェスに出演した経歴を持つアーティストです。音楽活動と並行して、イラストレーター、ぬいぐるみ作家、絵本作者として多彩な表現活動を展開し、現在は絵画制作を中心に活動しています。
金森の絵画は、ひとつの“物語”の断片として生まれます。
「絵を描く時は最初に話を設定します。そうしないと、その絵の中で何が起こっているのか、どういうムードなのかが分からなくなってしまうからです」と語るように、彼の作品は物語を内包した風景のようでもあり、登場人物の気配や沈黙が画面に漂います。
金森の作品には、物語としての言葉の感性と、絵画的構築性が共存しています。
「絵に言葉は必要ないという考えもあって、そこに共感もするんですが、僕は文章も書きたいから書いています。
あとなるべくかっこいいタイトルをつけたいなと思っていますので、そういうのも気にしてもらえたら嬉しいです」
タイトルや短い文章を添えることで、作品は視覚だけでなく、言葉の残響も感じさせる“マルチレイヤーな物語”として立ち上がります。
本展タイトル「女たち」は、ローリング・ストーンズの1978年のアルバム『Some Girls』からインスピレーションを受けています。
当時のストーンズが、多様な女性像を通じて社会の変化や人間の複雑さを描き出したように、金森もまた本展で、“女性”という存在をテーマに、感情や関係性、時代の空気をキャンバス上に再構築します。そこに描かれるのは特定の誰かではなく、強さや儚さ、憧れや孤独など、人間の感情そのものを象徴する「女たち」です。

Bambinart Gallery is pleased to present “Some Girls”, a solo exhibition by Aoba Kanamori.
Kanamori made his major debut with King Records as the guitarist for the rock band “tobaccojuice”, and has performed at major music festivals including RSR, Rock in Japan, and SUMMER SONIC. Alongside his musical career, he has pursued a wide range of creative activities as an illustrator, stuffed-animal artist, and picture-book author. He currently focuses primarily on painting.
Kanamori’s paintings emerge as fragments of a single “story.”
“When I paint, I start by setting the story. Without that, I lose track of what’s happening in the painting or what kind of mood it has,” he explains. His works resemble landscapes imbued with narrative, where the presence and silence of unseen characters seem to linger on the canvas.
In Kanamori’s works, narrative language and pictorial construction coexist.
“There’s a view that paintings don’t need words, and I understand that. But I also want to write prose, so I write it.
And I want to give my works cool titles, so I hope viewers will pay attention to those as well.”
With the addition of titles and short texts, the works unfold as “multi-layered stories” that resonate not only visually but also through the echoes of words.
The exhibition title “Some Girls” draws inspiration from the Rolling Stones’ 1978 album “Some Girls”.
Just as the Stones depicted social change and the complexity of human nature through diverse portrayals of women, Kanamori reconstructs emotions, relationships, and the spirit of the times on canvas through the theme of “Some Girls” What he depicts are not specific individuals, but symbolic figures representing human emotion itself—strength and fragility, longing and loneliness.
