このたびBambinart Galleryでは、リリー・ナイト個展「エロスの涙」を開催いたします。
リリーは、1988年中国黒龍江省ハルビン市生まれ。美学と認識論に関する研究を経て、2019年東京藝術大学大学院国際芸術創造研究科（GA）を修了。
彼女は、身体性と行為、実存の条件、各々の存在の関わり方、その先にある主体性と空間の問題について関心を持ち、制作テーマとして扱っています。ドローイングとペインティングからはじめ、写真、ミクストメディアによる制作を持って、定着されつつある現代アートの表現域を広げ、増幅させるような活動をしています。
日本国内外において多数の展示をおこない、国境を越えた活動を展開しています。参加型NPO多言語雑誌プロジェクト「bpmf」を主宰しています。
本展は、意識を支配するEgo（自我）に対して、無意識に潜むEs（エロス）を引き出すドローイングの作品群から選び取った新旧作品に構成されています。
不可視な内面から立ち現れる色彩と形象をもって、自己・身体・エロスが置かれた現代社会の状況を問いかけます。
「これは瞑想に近いプロセス、呼吸と身体の感覚に意識を持たせ、白紙から、見えざる記憶から、色彩と形が表れてくる。
個の自由―それは生きる意欲、愛し愛されたい欲求、創造欲―生まれつきの権利だ。しかし自然環境から動植物そして人間は、巨大権力とそれを成立させる崇高なるイデオロギーと格闘しながら生きなければならない。
本展タイトルでいう涙は、機械的に加速する人間社会における個の涙であり、抑圧・忘却されていく身体・自然の涙であり、芸術作品そのものだと考えている。」（リリー・ナイト）

Bambinart Gallery is pleased to present “Les Larmes d’Éros” a solo exhibition by Chinese female artist Lily Night.
Lily Night was born in 1988 in Harbin, Heilongjiang Province, China. After studying aesthetics and epistemology, she completed the Graduate School of Global Arts (GA) at Tokyo University of the Arts in 2019. Her artistic practice is driven by an interest in the relationship between physicality and movement, the existential conditions of things, and the relationship between subjectivity and space. Experimenting with drawing, painting, photography and mixed media, her interdisciplinary practice adds layers to and broadens the possibility of contemporary art expressions as they continue to take form. She has exhibited extensively both in Japan and internationally, developing a cross-border artistic practice. She is also keen on organising the participatory NPO multilingual magazine project ‘bpmf’.
This exhibition is composed of both new and earlier works selected from a series of drawings that seek to draw out the Es (Eros) hidden within the unconscious, in contrast to the Ego that governs consciousness. Through colors and forms that emerge from an invisible inner realm, the works question the conditions of the self, the body, and Eros as they are situated within contemporary society.
“This is a process close to meditation—directing awareness to my breath and bodily sensations, colors and forms emerge from unseen memories and reveal themselves through the tabula rasa. Sometimes I think to myself, individual freedom is the will to live, the desire to love and be loved, the urge to create, it is an innate right. Yet nature, animals, plants, and human beings alike must struggle against enormous powers and the sublime ideologies that sustain them, to live. The ‘tears’ in the title of this exhibition are the tears of individuals within a mechanically accelerating human society; they are the tears of the body and the nature being suppressed and forgotten; and they are, I believe, the artworks themselves.” (Lily Night)
